![]() I expect some dark god to discover somewhere deep, some mysterious grand theme or a collection of vampires lurking somewhere in the woods. I think I appreciate that it's a world much deeper than Rimworld, much more mysterious, that colonists are not potatoes obeying my every single order. I don't know if I will like Dwarf Fortress. My appreciation for Terraria ended when friends explored the whole world too fast or checked internet for everything and it was no longer a mysterious gem with hidden things. I liked Terraria when it started, with the wild exploration and possibility to encounter terrible shrines in the underworld. ![]() I like Dominions, Civ4 Fall from Heaven, etc or even a relaxing Stardew Valley where I can explore the mines sometimes which cannot compare with a DF experience but still notes I can appreciate the mysterious dark rituals of a Dominions game, the strong theme of a Fall from Heaven, or the calm relaxing farming experience. ![]() I think I felt Keeper RL was limited, I'll have to retry it. I especially like that Keeper RL can be reprogrammed and hope to try it some day. There was some mystery in the overworld and what could happen. I played Keeper RL but it was a long time ago, and liked it. I did not find there was a mysterious world to explore. I felt everything was like a poor "pretend game" colonists had a limited background generator, were obeying to my little orders to the point and everything was micromanagement. My imagination could not connect to what was happening or what could happen after. I felt they were not that unique looking (but generic potato looking), that their story was a collection of limited generated elements. ![]() When trying Rimworld I could not connect to my colonists. Please don't mind my notes if you loved Rimworld or find my words adversive. I played Rimworld as I was really attracted to the colonist setting, but I did not like it as a game experience. ![]()
